The French Institute of Science and Technology of transport, planning and networks (IFSTTAR) is a civil public French research institute.
It is under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Ecology and Transportation and the Ministry of Research.

CETU is the central technical service of the Minsitry of Ecology, Energy, sustainable Development and Town and Country Planning responsible for all the technical aspects of tunnels. CETU is attached to the General Directorate of Infrastructures and Sea and is involved in all stages of tunnel work from conception to asset management as well with facilities and civil engineering matters.
