UC-win/Road
UC-win/Road is a software developed since the year 2000 by the Japanese company Forum8 (www.forum8.co.jp). Several times preceded in Japan for its excellence in virtual reality, it is largely diffused and used in Asia (Japan, Korea, China…).
UC-win/Road is a real-time VR program that allows generation and use of 3-D virtual reality (VR) through simple PC operations.
Dynamic 3-D spaces can be controlled in real-time and the program can be used not only for road planning and designing, but as a common language for those involved in consensus building in public projects and private developments of a general nature. The superb VR generation features such as abundant visual options, and running and flight simulations in diverse modes, are supported.
The VR of UC-win/Road is highly effective in landscape evaluation, discussion of designs and construction, examination of comparative ideas, and technical propositions.
Topographic input
Nationwide 50m sea-level data and XML (convertible from DXF) can be utilized and edited. The 2500 spatial data foundation, DM data, satellite pictures, and aerial pictures can be loaded as geographical information.
 
Road definition
Linear information can be input as a parameter or freehand. You can define tunnel and bridge sections. Cross sections can be chosen from many default sections and the sections conforming to road structural laws, and user definition and texture definition can be made by providing coordinates. These sections can be registered and shared.
 
Road creation
Automatic cutting and banking of the terrain; creation of slopes, on-ramps/off-ramps, and grade crossings can be done instantly. You can arrange 3D models and textures in both 2D and 3D modes.
Simulation
The program provides the highest level of real-time VR capability for a personal computer.
The swift process of road creation enables instant running simulation. Supports a wide range of modes (car speed, lane change, direction, viewpoint, left/right side switch, etc.) You can pause anytime and go into these editing modes and change the viewpoint in anyway desired. In the flight simulation, automatic flight is available on providing a flight route.
