ACORD-express is intended to the carpenters, engineering and design departments needing to justify the dimensioning of their constructions with respect to the rules of calculation(CB71, EC5.).
It allows in particular the check of trusses, purlins, rafters, joists in wooden floors, dado and hinged joints.

Applicable standards

In ACORD-Express, the proposed data and the computation depend automatically on the active standard selected in the first page of the study.
ACORD-Express has currently two standards available:
  • The European standards with national appendices based on the "Eurocode 5" standards, including the new European norms and the national appendices (when they exist).
  • The French standard, based on "CB71" rules, including the former French norms.

Reports and Exports
The modules "check of traditional trusses", "Check of roof members" and "Check of wooden floor joists" have the singularity to be structural computation modules. For these modules, the user has the possibility in the last input page to access the specific functionalities:

  • Detailed criteria report: for each load combination and for each member, ACORD-Express computes all the design criteria necessary for structural check. In addition to the report presenting the main results and to the report aimed for your client or control office, ACORD-Express offers a third report describing the details of a design criterion computation for a group of combinations and for a given member. This is the reason why you may select this design criterion in list at the bottom of the page.

  • Joint export: In the case of the analysis of a traditional truss, it is possible to automatically export the dimensions and loads acting on the joints of the truss towards the dado and hinged joint modules to allow completion of the joint design.

  • Export of the model to the structural computation software, ACORD-Bat: In these modules, ACORD-Express uses your data to automatically generate the structural computation model and the applied loads, then uses, as a hidden task, the powerful finite element computation software ACORD-Bat. In order to allow a complete control of the tasks and to satisfy demanding control offices, you can export the ACORD-Express study to ACORD-Bat and then gain access to the advanced functionalities of the finite element software, and in particular: the visualization of the model with its internal joints and its supports, the visualization of the applied loads, the visualization of all results (deformed shape, stress curves, reaction loads, etc.), editing of the listing presenting all model properties and model results
